KCG Partners with 7-Eleven and Thailand's Six Leading Cake Manufacturers Bringing World-Class Chocolate Brand Van Houten Professional to 13 Premium Menu Creations Under the Luxury & Premium Affordable

KCG Corporation Public Company Limited (KCG), a leader in food products for modern lifestyles in Thailand, has announced a major step in expanding its consumer reach through Thailand’s leading convenience store chain by bringing Van Houten Professional, the legendary premium chocolate brand with more than 200 years of heritage, trusted by professional chefs and bakery businesses, to ready-to-eat menu creations that consumers can enjoy in their everyday lives.

Through this major collaboration with 7-Eleven, KCG launches the ELEVATE YOUR LUXURY MOMENT campaign to make everyday moments of happiness even more special. The campaign introduces a new dimension of accessible premium indulgence through the Luxury & Premium Affordable concept, meeting the needs of today’s consumers who seek to reward themselves with high-quality products at a worthwhile price. The project also reinforces KCG’s position as a trusted provider in the food industry across both the B2B and B2C sectors through collaboration with Thailand’s six leading cake manufacturers, including NSL Foods, CPRAM, Singha Food, Bow Bakery, Grand Inter Foods, and NSL Bake a Wish, transforming world-class Van Houten Professional chocolate into 13 premium menu creations, bringing exceptional chocolate experiences to consumers nationwide.

Mr. Damrongchai Vipawatanakul, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of KCG Corporation, said: “According to cocoa price data over the past 10 years from the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database, based on data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), global cocoa prices remained relatively stable between 2016 and 2023, averaging approximately USD 2,000–3,300 per metric ton, or approximately 65,860–108,669 baht per metric ton. However, since 2024, prices have risen sharply to approximately USD 7,390 per metric ton, or approximately 243,500 baht per metric ton, and continued climbing to approximately USD 7,788 per metric ton, or approximately 256,615 baht per metric ton, in 2025. This reflects the significant increase in global chocolate production costs over the past two years. Despite these cost pressures, KCG continues to see growth opportunities in Thailand’s chocolate and cocoa market, which was valued at approximately 8.7 billion baht in 2024 and is expected to continue expanding. This growth is driven by changing consumer preferences, with Thai consumers increasingly seeking premium products, dark chocolate, craft chocolate, and high-quality bakery products. KCG has transformed these consumer insights into business opportunities by bringing Van Houten Professional, the legendary chocolate brand trusted by professional chefs and food and bakery businesses, together with 7-Eleven and leading bakery manufacturers under the Luxury & Premium Affordable concept. Through this collaboration, premium chocolate has been transformed into special menu creations available on the shelves of convenience stores nationwide, making the distinctive taste of world-class chocolate more accessible to consumers.”

KCG x 7-Eleven: Reinforcing KCG’s Position as a Trusted Provider

1. Building Strategic Partnerships in the B2B Business

Through this project, KCG delivers ingredient solutions by collaborating with Thailand’s six leading cake manufacturers under the EZY Sweet brand and SME brands, including NSL Foods, CPRAM, Singha Food, Bow Bakery, Grand Inter Foods, and NSL Bake a Wish. Using premium-quality ingredients from Van Houten Professional, the partners have created and developed 13 new bakery menu creations, making premium-quality indulgence more accessible to customers at 7-Eleven.

2. Transitioning to a Lifestyle Provider in the B2C Business

This initiative responds to evolving Thai consumer behavior. According to the Asia Consumer Study 2026 by Roland Berger, Thailand has entered a Split Market, where consumers divide their spending between value-for-money products and premium offerings. The study found that 79% of Thai consumers prioritize product quality and brand reputation over price, while demand for premium desserts and beverages continues to grow as consumers seek moments of self-indulgence.

This is consistent with findings from Thailand Consumer Trends Outlook 2025 by Intellify Global, which indicate that Thai consumers are becoming increasingly value-conscious, giving rise to a segment known as “Value Hackers”, consumers who carefully plan their spending and choose high-quality, value-for-money products over lower-priced alternatives with inferior quality.

As a result, bringing products made with premium-quality ingredients from Van Houten Professional to the shelves of convenience stores makes both premium quality and everyday indulgence more accessible to consumers.

3. Driving Sustainable Growth as a Regional Player

KCG’s successful expansion of the world-class Van Houten Professional brand to reach a broader consumer base nationwide will serve as a strategic model for accelerating the growth of its market-leading core brands, Allowrie and Imperial. This initiative supports KCG’s ambition to advance from local leader to regional player.

Mr. Thupthep Jiraadisawong, Executive Vice President of CP All Public Company Limited, the operator of 7-Eleven and 7-Delivery, said, "KCG has been a long-standing business partner that has grown alongside 7-Eleven over the years. This special campaign comes at the right time, driven by the growing demand among today’s consumers for premium cakes and desserts. Bringing an internationally renowned brand like Van Houten Professional to collaborate with both leading Thai manufacturers and SMEs, renowned for their expertise in cake production, has resulted in ready-to-eat menu creations that are both affordable and conveniently available. This collaboration brings a luxury taste experience within easy reach for 7-Eleven customers nationwide. It also helps elevate cakes and desserts produced by Thai manufacturers through the co-development of new menu creations and continuous value creation, enabling us to better meet consumers’ needs.”

About Van Houten Professional

Van Houten Professional is a chocolate and cocoa brand with a heritage spanning more than 200 years. Founded in 1815 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, by Caspardus Van Houten, the company began as a producer of cocoa and chocolate.

In 1828, Coenraad Johannes Van Houten, the son of Caspardus, developed and patented a hydraulic cocoa press that extracted cocoa powder by reducing the cocoa butter content by nearly half. This innovation produced cocoa powder that dissolved more easily and offered improved nutritional value.

In 1846, Coenraad introduced the “Dutching” process by treating cocoa powder with alkaline salts, resulting in cocoa powder with a richer chocolate flavor and improved solubility. The process remains an industry standard in chocolate production today.

In 1865, Van Houten introduced canned cocoa powder, an innovation that made the product more convenient for consumers.

Today, Van Houten Professional continues its legacy of innovation by offering high-quality chocolate and cocoa products for chefs and pastry professionals around the world while remaining committed to delivering exceptional taste and quality across its product portfolio.
